Nocturnal Wanderings

I have really been enjoying walking around Paris -- it is a true "walking" city.  I have become somewhat of a nocturnal wanderer, partially due to my need to walk off whatever dessert I just indulged in and partly because, well, I tend to get lost.  I never regret getting turned around on the streets of Paris, because you never know what you may find.

Here are some photographs from my latest nocturnal wanderings about the streets of the 6th arrondissement (Saint Germain des Pres):

These beautiful lights are hanging along Blvd St Germain -- they often serve as my beacons when I get lost!

My photos don't do these lights justice as the lamps in the center column twinkle.

I would love to think a beautiful kitchen like this would make me want to
keep it clean, but in reality I would probably need to have the
cleaning people come more often! (Sad, but so so so true).

I fell in love with thse lucite bar stools -- how fantastic would they look at a bar!?

I took these photos outside the Marithé François Girbaud shop -- my photography skills truly do not do this magnificent living wall justice.

Leave it to the French to design beautiful security fences!

This chair positively makes me swoon.  I love the way the upholsterer used the welt to articulate the shape of the back of the bergère.

This is the door handle to the shop where I found the delicious bergère seen above.  Sometimes I can feel like a broken record when I say this, but good design is truly all in the details.

à bientôt mes amis!
