Paris vs New York and a New Release

Can I tell you how much I love the project "Paris vs New York," by Vahram Muratyan?  How could I not love something about my favorite two cities in the world?

Muratyan is a French graphic artist and after a long stay in New York he launched his first blog, "Paris versus New York, a Tally of Two Cities," where he compared various aspects of Parisian life alongside the equivalent in New York via cheeky minimalist artwork that either make me giggle or nod my head in agreement, sometimes both!  His blog was such a success that he had a show at the trendy Paris boutique Colette and published a book of his drawings that became a best-seller.

I found a set of postcards that features a selection of the works in the project and, to be honest, I haven’t actually sent any of them to anyone because I can’t bear to part with them!

Here are some of my favorite images from the Paris vs New York project::

Muratyan is releasing his new book “About Time/Tick-Tock”  in the US on November 18th.  Here’s the description::

Take it, make it, lose it, have it, kill it, spend it, save it, forget it, break it, set it, repeat it, keep it. Time flies like never before, yet time crawls. This may be your first time, your last or you may be stuck in your routine. How we experience time shapes our relationships, memories, hopes and dreams. And only with time can possibility become reality.

In anticipation of the book, I’ve been following the blog featuring animated artwork from the project and I'm so excited to see the whole project. I looked at the tour dates for the book and he isn’t making a trip out to LA <sad face>, I guess I’ll just have to settle for the book.
